Everyone loves a good baby shower. There is always good food, good company and lots of cute little baby things to swoon over. But are you suppose to have a baby shower for your second baby? I have always been on the fence with the idea.
I think having a baby shower for your first baby is great, it's new, it's exciting and all the gifts are appreciated because you are just starting out, but I didn't feel comfortable receiving so many gifts for my second.
During my second pregnancy a few of my friends asked if I was going to have a shower for Taylor.
That's when I got the idea of having a charity baby shower. My friends and family could come meet Taylor after he had been born, but we asked our guests to not bring gifts, instead they could make a donation to The Children's Hospital at Westmead by purchasing a raffle ticket for their chance to win 1 of 2 beautiful gift baskets from Diamond Kids Boutique.
We had a wonderful afternoon. My 18 month old daughter Elsie was such a little super star. She wanted to help me out so she wrote everyone's name on their raffle ticket. Of course she doesn't know how to spell but she took the job so seriously that I couldn't tell her no. Such a cutie! I think she is going to become a wonderful charity ambassador one day!
Here are a few pictures from the day.
